Yes — QuickMed consultations can be covered by Swiss compulsory health insurance (LAMal/KVG).
However, there is an important distinction:

Free-choice/basic insurance: the consultation is submitted to the insurer, subject to the normal deductible and 10% co-payment.
Telemedicine/GP/HMO insurance models: the patient may be required to contact their designated telemedicine or GP service first. Switzerland permits insurance models that restrict the choice of healthcare provider.
QuickMed will bill your Swiss health insurance directly, and as per Swiss law, the patient will receive a copy of the invoice.
The billing system in Switzerland is per minute as per TARDOC with a surcharge on weekends and weekday evenings (19:00-22:00).
Even with Swiss health insurance you can choose to pay on the app.

Yes. QuickMed can be used for both children and adults. A QuickMed doctor (pediatrician or general practitioner) can assess your child remotely and advise whether treatment can be provided through telemedicine or whether an in-person examination is needed.
Add family members (including your children) to your profile. Go to 'profile', then 'family members' and add your family members there. More than one parent or caregiver can add the same family members to allow care regardless of which adult is currently with the family member.

Yes. When medically appropriate, your QuickMed doctor can prescribe medication following your consultation.
Medications that are not prescribed through our service due to safety concerns or limitations in treatment scope include narcortics (strong painkillers with high addiction risk, e.g., Morphine, Oxycodone), barbiturates (sedatives used for seizures and sleep disorders, e.g., Phenobarbital), immunosuppressants (drugs that weaken the immune system, used for organ transplants or autoimmune diseases), and Subutex (unless you have a proven medical condition with medical documentation that can be provided).
When you receive your prescription by secure email as a pdf attachment, you can choose to go to any pharmacy to fill your prescription or you can opt to have your medication delivered straight to your home (for non urgent prescriptions).

Yes. If medically appropriate, your QuickMed doctor can issue a sick note after your consultation.
QuickMed provides one sick note per month for 3 days on average.

Yes. QuickMed can be used without Swiss health insurance. The service is designed to help all patients, whether insured in Switzerland or not. This is ideal for tourists or patients living in Switzerland without insurance.

For uninsured patients, the consultation would be paid privately, rather than billed to a Swiss health insurer.

Patients can request a consultation from anywhere in Switzerland, from any canton or city (Aargau, Appenzell Ausserrhoden, Appenzell Innerrhoden, Basel-Landschaft, Basel-Stadt, Bern, Fribourg, Geneva, Glarus, Graubünden, Jura, Lucerne, Neuchâtel, Nidwalden, Obwalden, Schaffhausen, Schwyz, Solothurn, St. Gallen, Thurgau, Ticino, Uri, Valais, Vaud, Zug, Zurich).
QuickMed can serve patients at home, while travelling within Switzerland, or from a workplace.

If you have a medical emergency or symptoms that could be life-threatening, call 144 immediately or go to the nearest emergency department.
Telemedicine is not appropriate for emergencies such as: severe shortness of breath, rapid swelling in the throat, chest pain, severe injuries, severe accidents, heavy bleeding, accidental or intentional overdose, alcohol intoxication, confusion, sever headache and symptoms of stroke (weakness in an arm or leg, slurred speech).

Doctors are available on weekdays from 8:00-22:00 and on Sundays from 13:00-19:00 so that you can speak to a doctor during after hours, weekends and holidays. Soon we will offer daily consultations from 8:00-22:00.

Yes, you can access your full medical report after your consultation has been completed. Simply go on your QuickMed App under 'History' and you will see all previous medical consultations with the most recent being first. You will also receive the medical report in a secure email sent after your consultation. During the consultation you can ask the doctor to secrurely send your report securely to another doctor or family member.
