When you need care in person

Telemedicine is not appropriate for every medical problem.

If your doctor determines that you need a physical examination, diagnostic investigation, emergency assessment or other in-person care, you will be advised on the appropriate next step. If you have a medical emergency, call 144 or go directly to an emergency department. Telemedicine is not appropriate for emergencies such as: severe shortness of breath, rapid swelling in the throat, chest pain, severe injuries, severe accidents, heavy bleeding, accidental or intentional overdose, alcohol intoxication, confusion, sever headache and symptoms of stroke (weakness in an arm or leg, slurred speech). Medications that are not prescribed through our service due to safety concerns or limitations in treatment scope include narcortics (strong painkillers with high addiction risk, e.g., Morphine, Oxycodone), barbiturates (sedatives used for seizures and sleep disorders, e.g., Phenobarbital), immunosuppressants (drugs that weaken the immune system, used for organ transplants or autoimmune diseases), and Subutex (unless you have a proven medical condition with medical documentation that can be provided).
